• Whether your existing door unit is a single door or a pair of doors measure each one as accurately in width & height as you possibly can and note these measurements.
• Also determine which way your door swings. Does it swing into the left or does it swing into the right, as you enter your home.
• Is your door or doors in direct sunlight at any time during the day?
• Examine your door or doors and try to determine how they might have arrived at the present condition that they are in. (Look at weathering or Deterioration)
• If you have a pair of doors will you be replacing them with a new pair of doors or a door and sidelite or a door and two Sidelites?
• And finally decide what wood specie & style of door you would like.
• Now you are ready to go shopping for your new front entry door unit.
